I never clean hulls, if they have debris in them, or are corroded on the base, I just throw them away. I usually reload them until they crack at the crimp petals, and that is probably 7-8 times. The Remingtons, (Nitros, STS, Gunclubs and even the black discount hulls) are one piece and load fine. I throw them away, having had too many problems with them. They are now multi piece hulls and do not hold up like the old ones. AA used to be the best, but the king is dead. These offer exceptional hull life, the best I have ever experienced. My favorite reloading 12 ga hull is the new metallic green Remington STS or gold Nitro. The AA shells were redesigned several years ago. I do agree with you that the newer AA hulls seem thinner than I remember, but I just chalked that up to a bad memory. They have never touched the ground.

These hulls are from brand-new factory shells that have gone straight from my chamber or shell-catcher to my shell pouch after firing. I really miss the old Winchester AA hulls, they were top shelf. I have for sale once-fired 12-gauge Remington Gun Club hulls.
